Is it for me?
Starting a business is not for everyone. But until you try it you'll never know whether or not it is for you. Importantly you are the only person who can or should answer this question. We can help you to explore the options before you commit.
Is now the right time?
The current economic climate is not necessarily a problem. We are in a period of change and change creates opportunities. We can help you to spot those opportunities and to make the most of them.
Do I need a business idea?
MyBizStart uses techniques to help you to create business ideas. The more ideas you have, the more chance of finding a winner. MyBizStart also helps you to decide if a business idea is viable.
Do I have the skills?
Don’t underestimate your talent. Most people have far more skills than they think. MyBizStart helps to unlock your talent and recognise your skills.
What about tax?
MyBizStart offers straight-forward information about tax and how to reduce your tax bill (We estimate that over 90% of businesses pay more tax than they should).
Can I still keep my day job?
Yes. You can start your business whilst still working and you may benefit from a tax rebate. Whether you will want to is another matter!
Am I too old to start my own business?
Recent surveys estimate that the average age of people starting their own business in the UK is around 39. With the increase in older people opting to go self-employed rather than retire (so called 'older-preneurs') this looks set to go up! It is never too late.
Do I have to sell?
Yes, but you don't have to be a salesperson! Our course helps you to understand the selling process so that you don't need to 'hard sell'.
Do I have to be self-confident?
No. We have helped many people start their own business and interestingly self-confidence is not a critical factor. What is important is a willingness to learn and an open mind.
Can I take time out to think about it?
