Case Study 1:

Mrs F is severely dyslexic and felt failed by the education system. She had a low skilled job and was often bullied and belittled about her dyslexia. Mrs F became quite aggressive and consequently lost her job.

Having expressed an interest in starting a business she attended the start up course. She was dubious at first because she was worried that her dyslexia would make the course too difficult.

Mrs F was delighted to discover that the course was very interesting and designed in such a way that dyslexia was not a barrier. The course also helped Mrs F to realise that she had valuable knowledge and skills in other areas and gave her the confidence to proceed.

Mrs F went on to study a new vocation at college and has now started a business that employs 2 other people

Mr A had spotted an opportunity that his employers were missing. He came on the start up course and found it "inspiring" and "life changing".

It made him realise that he had transferable knowledge and skills and gave him the additional knowledge and skills that he needed.

Because the business idea had high growth potential, we introduced Mr A to a firm of Accountants to progress his financial plans. He initially secured funding of £40 million and has now obtained funding of £1billion.
